About Tollen

As we speak Lawrence Malstaf is busy working on "Tollen" ("Spinning Tops"). This installation will confront us with a group of man-sized spinning tops moving about autonomously whilst constantly interacting with one another in a large space. During the development of this installation a performance came into being with the artist manually starting up any number of spinning tops and attempting to drive them as a kind of flock, a self-sustaining system.
