[.EN] Lawrence Malstaf creates works of art that belong somewhere on the borderline between the plastic arts and theatre. Shrink, 95. Individual experience or performance in which a person is vacuum-packed between two layers of transparent PVC.

[.NL] Het werk van Lawrence Malstaf (°1972) situeert zich in het grensgebied tussen het beeldende en het theatrale. Shrink, 95. Individuele ervaring of performance waarin een persoon vacuüm verpakt wordt tussen twee lagen van transparante PVC.

[.EN] One of the most musically fanatic dj's of Belgium is always in for a challenge. Next to organizing his own monthly 'We Play House' night at the infamous Decadance Club he is also about to release his very first record on Detroit's Ferris Park label and Ghent's Eskimo Records has asked him to compile and mix a hiphouse cd. For 'Shrink' he will prepare and play a special live minimal set.

[.NL] Één van het meest muzikaal fanatieke dj's van België is altijd te vinden voor een uitdaging. Naast het organiseren van zijn eigen maandelijkse „We play House“ in de befaamde Club Decadance, staat hij nu ook op het punt van zijn allereerste release bij het Detroitse label Ferris Park en het Gentse label Eskimo Records heeft hem gevraagd om een hiphouse CD samen te stellen en te mixen. Voor „Shrink“ bereidt hij een speciale minimale live set voor.

Stief Desmet / Ravage Deluxe

[.EN] While building and designing sculptural elements and modular units with Ravage Deluxe, visual artist Stief Desmet (°1973) re-defines space and context. Most of these sculptures become func-tional as they are positioned in the space. Ravage Deluxe blurs the line between visual arts and design. When does art become design and when is design considered art?

[.NL] Met Ravage Deluxe ontwerpt en bouwt beeldend kunstenaar Stief Desmet (°1973) sculpturale elementen en modulaire units waarmee hij ruimtelijke contexten herdefinieert. Vele van deze sculpturen krijgen dikwijls ook een functionele taak toegemeten door hun positie in de ruimte. Hierbij balanceert Ravage Deluxe op de grens tussen vrije kunsten en toegepast design. Wanneer wordt kunst design, wanneer is design kunst?
