“puu - puu - puu - tsjing - tsjing - tjaf - tjaf - tsjit”
WEproject Brussels
Exhibition 6 November > 4 December 2009
Opening 5 November 2009
WE project has the pleasure to invite you to visit the exhibition of the Dutch artist Pieter Laurens Mol (Breda, 1946). The exhibition includes a selection of works originating from 1984 till the present using various media: photography, drawing, sculpture and installation. The title of the show is a transcription of a twitter of the nightingale. As a verse pretty hard to repeat in pronouncing and even harder to imitate in singing, the important thing here is the ‘word as image’ quality, tracing a visual horizon in a rhyhmic, sequential and repetitive manner. The artist chose a number of works with a clear linear build-up, responding and coinciding with the spatial properties of the WE project
“La Salutation Bruxelloise”
Dotremont House Brussels
Exhibition from 6 November 2009 onwards
by appointment only
The Dotremont house, a masterpiece from 1931 by the architect L. H. De Koninck, presents an intimate exhibition by Pieter Laurens Mol. The title refers to the very first work the artist made upon his arrival in Brussels in 2006 and as such La Salutation Bruxelloise is a reflection of his first impression of the city. All other pieces date back to his ‘Moedervlek’ period, early works made between 1965 and 1975. The united group of pieces forms a ‘cut to size’ ensemble the visitor may recognize as a private collection concocted by the owner. “It is a privileged situation, taking the specific history of the Dotremont house into account. This is not just any private home, it is a cell of secret dreams!”, says Pieter L. Mol.
